For the fast approaching Peace Day, January 30th, Tara and I have been speaking with the children about
What builds peace?
How do we acquire peace?
and the opposite,
What breaks peace up?
How do we lose peace?
5th & 6th graders have brainstormed concepts and ideas resulting in a lovely display of
Peacebuilders:
kindness, collaboration, hugs, respect, friendship, truth, sharing, patience, caring, smiles and friendship
and Peacebreakers:
selfishness, bullying, racism, rudeness, fear, ignoring others, killing, lying, violence and rejection

Meanwhile, 1st & 2nd graders continue enjoying class with their best friends and have completed their Peace Day badges, odorned with the symbol of a white dove.
Here are some photos of our fun class!
At the same time, we brushed up on our interviewing skills:
Ian, who are your best friends???
Mariña, who are your best friends???
Marcos, who are your best friends?
Here Mariña has her peace dove decorated with flowers, only waiting to complete it with tissue paper wings!
